Isaiah Smallwood’s song, “From My Heart to Yours” was written in a hotel room in New Orleans while auditioning for American Idol. The lyrics and music video express the different terrains the singer needs to traverse to return home to their love. The video will be filmed throughout Elmira at places like Harris Hill, Grove Street boat launch, the Lackawanna Rail Trail, His Tabernacle, the trails of Steege Hill Nature Preserve, and more. The lyrics are rich in natural imagery and Gospel symbolism. Accompanying musicians are from the team at His Tabernacle, including his wife, Brittany, on vocals. The final performance included an artist showcase, “Elmira IS Beautiful: An Artist Showcase,” that featured two painters, a glass maker, a pianist, and Isaiah performing his song in an event which took place at the Economic Opportunity Program (EOP) venue, a local non-profit.
Isaiah Smallwood is a musician and former American Idol contestant influenced by country, R&B, soul and gospel music.
