In Place of a Time Before

“In Place of a Time Before” is a narrative short film by Megan MacDonald that follows the character Sam Hardy, as he wonders what he can hold on to, and if there are places he can escape to that will not fade. After a day spent hiking in a rural landscape with his fiancee Maggie, just weeks before their wedding, they examine what the ideal landscape means to them, and what it may hold for their future. The film addresses our relationship with landscape, and our struggles with holding on to people and places that inevitably change. Where do we find refuge? How do we reconcile reality with wonder?
