Jack Johnson has been making lacrosse sticks and splint utility baskets for over twenty years as a Mohawk man raised on the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation, surrounded by traditional values, teachings and knowledge of the indigenous Mohawk people of New York State. Johnson uses his skills and knowledge acquired through multiple apprenticeships, including Henry Arquiette and Alfie Jacques. His goal is to pass along the knowledge to the youth of surrounding communities to keep the traditions of his Native American ancestors alive.
